TUINA THERAPY
What is Tuina Therapy?
Tuina (pronounced twee-nah) is a traditional Chinese therapeutic massage that has been practiced for thousands of years. It’s designed to promote the body’s natural healing by using hands-on techniques to stimulate acupuncture points, relax muscles, improve circulation, and balance energy flow. Unlike a spa massage that’s mainly for relaxation, Tuina is often used to address specific health issues — like back pain, stiff neck, joint problems, muscle tension, or even stress-related discomfort.
How Does It Work?
-
The practitioner uses their hands, fingers, elbows, and sometimes special tools to apply pressure, knead, roll, and stretch the body.
-
Movements are targeted along the body’s meridians (energy pathways) and acupoints to help restore balance and remove blockages.
-
It can be gentle or strong depending on your condition and comfort level.

What to Expect in a Session
A Tuina session usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. You’ll remain clothed in loose, comfortable clothing. The therapist will discuss your symptoms first, then focus on areas that need attention. Afterward, you might feel more relaxed, lighter, and notice improved movement.
